Iraeta Supports France's First Floating Wind Power Forging Project

Recently, Provence Grand Large, France's and the Mediterranean region's first floating wind power forging project, has been officially and fully put into operation. This marks a crucial step for France in the field of offshore wind power, especially floating wind power. Among them, Iraeta provided 3 key flange forgings for the project in 2021.

The Provence Grand Large project is located approximately 17 kilometers off the coast of Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône in the Bouches-du-Rhône department in southern France. It has installed three Siemens Gamesa 8 MW wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 25 MW, which is expected to meet the annual electricity demand of about 45,000 households. As France's first truly floating wind power test site, the project has extremely high requirements for the stability and reliability of equipment. The flanges provided by Iraeta have ensured the safe and stable operation of the wind turbines in the dynamic marine environment.

EDF stated that it is honored to complete France's first floating offshore wind farm and would like to thank all partners involved in this project. This innovative project opens up new prospects and opportunities for the development of the offshore wind power industry and low-carbon energy production.
