A "Carbon Peak Reaching" Pacemaker! Iraeta Selected

On November 30, 2024, the Third China Industrial Carbon Peak Reaching Forum was held in Suzhou. At the conference, the list of "Pacemaker" enterprises for China's industrial carbon peak reaching in 2024 was released. Thanks to its outstanding achievements and innovative practices in green and low-carbon transformation, Iraeta was successfully selected.

As a national-level green factory, Iraeta has always advocated the manufacturing and business philosophy of "greener and more excellent", and unswervingly follows the path of high-quality development featuring green and low-carbon practices.

As a part of the clean energy industry chain, Iraeta has been actively exploring, practicing, and sharing energy conservation and emission reduction technologies and experiences. In recent years, through diversified measures such as oxygen-enriched combustion, hot delivery of materials, near-net shape forming, metal building forming, photovoltaic power generation in the park, and green electricity investment, Iraeta has actively integrated into the industrial layout of a green future and contributed to the realization of the green transformation of the forging industry.

The "World's Largest Ring" was rolled off the production line by using the Metal Building Technology, 

which has greatly reduced the consumption of raw materials.

During the signing ceremony at the China International Import Expo (CIIE), the Industrial Research Institute of Iraeta and Linde Gas established 

the "Joint Research Center for Low-carbon Combustion Technology and Equipment in the Forging Industry".

In the process of implementing the major decision-making arrangements for achieving the goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality and promoting the sustainable development of the enterprise itself, establishing an efficient energy management system is a crucial step. In 2020, Iraeta obtained the ISO 50001 Energy Management System Certification and effectively utilized this tool to enhance the company's energy-saving efficiency and energy management level.

In 2021, Iraeta established a dedicated "Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality" leading group and formulated its own action roadmap and targets for achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality. That is, it strives to reach the carbon peak by 2028 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. In August of the same year, we completed relevant international certifications such as product carbon footprint, taking a solid and crucial step on the path towards carbon peak and carbon neutrality.

Construction of distributed photovoltaic power generation systems in the factory

Iraeta deeply understands that the key to achieving the green transformation of the entire industrial chain lies in extending the core concept of a green ecology to both upstream and downstream sectors, and making carbon emission reduction along the value chain a new trend. To this end, Iraeta has redesigned its technological processes, established a circular economy industrial chain, and invested in the construction of a Iraeta Nuclear Power and Deep-sea Industrial Park.

The industrial park has fully implemented waste-free management. Closely adhering to the concept of clean production, it has achieved comprehensive improvements in multiple dimensions, including energy conservation and emission reduction, source control, and comprehensive management. In 2023, the industrial park was rated as the "Innovative Demonstration Site for Sino-European Clean Energy and Deep-Sea Engineering Equipment", opening up broad paths for deepening green cooperation among Chinese and European enterprises, carrying out technological innovation, and promoting industrial carbon reduction.

Currently, Iraeta possesses more than 130 patents and over 30 industry and regional certifications. In 2024, it also completed the certification of recycled materials for the short-process smelting and obtained the ISO 14021 Certification Certificate for the Content of Recycled Materials. These achievements are a powerful testament to Iraeta's long-term commitment to the concept of green development, enhancing the company's competitive edge in green and low-carbon practices as well as its sustainable development capabilities.
