Iraeta Chairman Niu Yugang Meets Academician Li Yiyi to Advance Technical Cooperation

On September 14, 2026, Iraeta Chairman Niu Yugang led an R&D and management team to visit the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), to discuss technical cooperation with Academician Li Yiyi.

Chairman Niu updated Academician Li on Iraeta’s latest progress in technical innovation, product upgrades and capacity expansion. He shared the company’s development plans for new‑material development, ultra‑large precision forgings, smart manufacturing and low‑carbon processes.

Academician Li highly valued Iraeta’s industrial capabilities for high‑end equipment. She praised the achievements from more than ten years of joint industry‑academia cooperation. Considering trends in new energy and high‑end equipment, she suggested both sides keep focusing on cutting‑edge technologies and turn more research results into mass‑produced solutions.

Academician Li Yiyi is a well‑known expert in global metallurgy and metal‑material research. Her work covers large‑scale forging forming technology and materials for extreme working conditions. She has in‑depth expertise in key materials for energy‑related equipment.

Iraeta and the Institute of Metal Research, CAS, jointly set up the Academician Li Yiyi Workstation in 2015. Over the past decade, joint research projects on key metal materials and large forgings have greatly boosted Iraeta’s R&D strength. Moving ahead, Iraeta will keep using this cooperation platform to speed up research commercialization and enhance manufacturing capacity for ultra‑large forgings and special metal materials.
